Dr. Tanisha Owusu
Licensed Psychologist | Founder
I am a licensed psychologist committed to helping individuals explore their inner world with clarity, intention, and compassion. I believe every person carries a unique story shaped by experience, culture, identity, and the roles they hold, and I am honored to join you on your journey of self-discovery and meaningful growth. My goal is to help you define what true wellness looks like for you and to provide grounded, affirming support as you work toward a life that feels aligned and sustainable.
I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia and completed my doctoral internship at the Johns Hopkins University Counseling Center. I am also a proud alumna of Florida A&M University (FAMU), where I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology. Across university counseling centers, community settings, and private practice spaces, I have had the privilege of working with diverse individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, identity exploration, relationship concerns, stress, work–life balance, and major life transitions.
Therapy with me is structured and exploratory, calm and grounding, and at times gently challenging. My role is not to promise you will feel better immediately. Growth is rarely comfortable. I help you get better at feeling, so emotions become information rather than something to push aside.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and multicultural frameworks. I value collaboration, authenticity, and the creation of a space where every aspect of your identity is respected and supported. Together, we will work toward developing insight, strengthening resilience, and creating a life shaped from the inside out.
