A Space for Insight, Growth, and Meaningful Change
Individual Therapy
At True Vitae Psychology, we believe that meaningful growth begins with deeper self-understanding. Individual therapy provides a supportive and structured space to explore your experiences, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges. Whether you are facing a specific concern or seeking greater clarity and alignment in your life, therapy can help you move forward with intention.
Common Reasons To Seek Therapy
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many clients come to therapy simply because they want a deeper understanding of themselves and a more intentional way of living.
Individuals seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including:
Anxiety, depression, and chronic stress
Perfectionism and self-criticism
Life transitions and identity development
Relationship concerns and communication difficulties
Emotional overwhelm and fatigue
Self-esteem and confidence concerns
Personal growth and self-discovery
Navigating professional, academic, or caregiving demands
Our Approach
Therapy is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and experiences. Our work integrates evidence-based approaches, including:
-
CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps identify patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that may contribute to stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or other challenges. Together, we work to develop practical skills and strategies that can be applied in daily life. CBT often includes exercises, reflection, and between-session practice to help reinforce new insights and support meaningful, lasting change.
-
IFS is based on the idea that we all have different sides of ourselves. For example, one part of you may strive for perfection, while another feels overwhelmed, self-critical, or wants to avoid difficult situations altogether. These different parts often develop to help us cope with life's challenges, even when they no longer serve us well. Through IFS, clients learn to better understand these internal experiences, reduce inner conflict, and respond to themselves with greater compassion, clarity, and confidence.
-
ACT helps individuals develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Rather than struggling against discomfort or waiting for challenges to disappear, ACT focuses on increasing psychological flexibility, the ability to stay present, respond effectively to life's challenges, and take meaningful action guided by personal values. Clients learn practical skills to navigate difficult emotions while building a life that feels purposeful, authentic, and aligned with what matters most.
-
Brainspotting is an approach that helps people work through difficult emotions and experiences that may feel stuck, overwhelming, or hard to put into words. While traditional talk therapy focuses on understanding experiences through conversation, Brainspotting uses focused attention to help access and process emotions at a deeper level. Many clients find it helpful for reducing emotional distress, increasing self-awareness, and creating lasting change.
-
Culturally responsive care recognizes that our identities, backgrounds, relationships, and lived experiences shape how we understand ourselves and move through the world. Therapy is approached with curiosity, humility, and respect for the cultural, social, and systemic factors that influence wellbeing. Together, we explore your experiences within the context of your values, identities, and communities, creating a space where all aspects of who you are can be acknowledged and understood.
What to Expect
Therapy begins with an initial consultation and intake process designed to understand your concerns, goals, and history. Together, we will identify areas of focus and develop an approach that feels supportive and effective.
Sessions are collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to your pace. At times, therapy may focus on gaining insight into longstanding patterns; at other times, it may involve developing concrete strategies for managing challenges in the present. Throughout the process, our goal is to help you build greater clarity, emotional wellbeing, and confidence in navigating your life.

All therapy services are provided through Headway, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Virtual therapy offers flexibility, accessibility, and the ability to engage in meaningful therapeutic work from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
